Who’s Your Daddyo? featuring Phill Palmer

Who's Your Daddyo? And What Does He Do?There are loads of Dad's out there. All of us came in part from one. All Dad's are bonded by the common factor of experiencing fatherhood. For some of us, it bonds us. Despite this similarity, most of us are quite different, whether it be profession, hidden talent, parenting style, etc., we all tick differently. This feature, Who's Your Daddyo & What Does He Do? features a different Dad each time, each filling out and answering the same questions.

Phill is like many of us, a father and corporate worker. However, there's one thing you most certainly won't beat him at. Find out more below in this edition of Who's Your Daddyo?

One word that best describes how you Dad: Longingly.

What one thing (tool, device, accessory, etc.) makes your life as a Dad easier?

My baby carrier, children are heavy lumps especially when they move. Having one means I can carry on with things like hiking without missing out on parenting time.

What's your favorite thing about being a Dad?

The thanks from my teenager or when Dorothy cries and a dad cuddle makes it all better.

What every day thing are you better at than everyone else (doesn’t have to be Dad related)?

Golf, I was a professional when I was 19.

What do you do that makes your kids think you're a super hero/super dad?

Nothing but I’m changing that. In September I cleaned my lifestyle up, lost three stone and dedicated spare time to training for a charity trek I’ve organised. If I’m not inspiring them to achieve greatness who is?

What centers you when the kids are acting up?

We spent 6 years trying to have Dorothy with lots of heart ache. We went through hell to get her so what’s so bad about a tantrum or a night of no sleep.

What's your favorite way to unwind?

Writing. It’s cathartic and I enjoy it. I also enjoy walking as a new found passion.

What's your best Dad-related tip?

When they’re babies, you’ll have to take a back seat especially if mum’s breast feeding. It’s not a nice choice but your time will come. As soon as they realise who’s the best parent, you’ll be number 1.

What is your favorite Dad story?

So a few years ago I really wanted Beth to have some snow for Christmas and you know that time between Boxing Day Christmas Specials and let’s get drunk on NYE there isn’t much to do. So on boxing day, I packed us all into the car for a wild adventure to Switzerland. 3ft snow, mount blanc and Geneva for NYE. Still talk about it fondly to this day.

Fill in the blank: I'd love to see Mark the Honest Father answer these same questions.
